Since the pandemic, practicality regarding our wardrobe contents has become more important than ever before. If there’s one thing our regimented daily walks has taught us, it’s that comfort REALLY is key. Whilst we made the switch from workwear to loungewear and party dresses to party womens pyjamas, one department that we may not have given much thought to is our women’s beachwear. No we’re not talking about swimsuits, swim shorts or even sarongs… it’s all about the changing robe.
What is a Changing Robe?
Put simply, a changing robe is a coat and robe hybrid that keeps the water away from your body to accelerate the drying process whilst keeping you warm and insulated due to its waterproof material composition. Its oversized fit and easy access design features mean it lends itself perfectly to those shudder-filled wetsuit or swimwear changes as you go from coast to car seat.
The recent surge in popularity of wild swimming, a trend which sees people swapping their pools and lido's for a quick dip in open bodies of water like lakes and rivers, has meant that the changing robe became a firm favourite during lockdown and is still going strong in 2022.
