What to wear to Reading & Leeds festival

Knowing the UK’s unpredictable forecasts, we can expect the festival to be a little... damp. So it's worth preparing for rain and muddy fields with lightweight jackets and comfortable footwear. Charli XCX

If 'Brat green' doesn't immediately come to mind, we don't know what will. The bold, lime hue that dominated summer 2024 is guaranteed to let everyone around know who you’re here for, whether you wear it as a T-shirt or an accessory. Not into neon? Take notes from the singer’s everyday grunge style instead. Think capris, biker jackets and crop tops with witty slogans. Don’t forget to reach for her signature round sunglasses too. A practical staple for the fields with peak party girl energy.

Chase & Status

There are two types of rave outfits. The first goes all out with bright colours, psychedelic prints and bold styles made to turn heads. The second keeps things low-key, leaning into laid-back streetwear with graphic T-shirts, cargos and easy layers. Whichever vibe you’re going for, be sure it’s comfortable and breathable. There’s a high chance that you’ll be moving non-stop throughout this entire set!

RAYE’s aesthetic blends old-school Hollywood glamour with modern edge, offering the perfect base for your festival outfit. While we don’t recommend wearing a floor-length gown to the fields, you can channel elements of her look through sequins, feathers and bodycon silhouettes. A sequin midi skirt is a no brainer. Can I take a backpack into Leeds Fest? 

• Yes, you can take a backpack into the festival grounds, but there are some rules. Small to medium backpacks are usually fine, especially for taking into the campsite. However, large bags are not allowed in the main arena. All bags will be searched on entry and certain items like glass, aerosols and sharp objects are not permitted.

Can I take a water bottle into Reading Festival? 

• Full water bottles may not be permitted upon entry. It’s best to take an empty, clear bottle and fill it up using the water points around the site.
