Colour poppin’ homeware?
Yes, we’re fighting the persistent grey clouds outside, yes we’re wading through rain puddles in our fluffy sliders, yes our fingertips are freezing holding an ice cream WITH flake, and yes our knitwear was prematurely packed two months ago. But, we refuse to let the fashionably late arrival of warm weather dampen our spirits. It’s time to get jiggy with colour Primark squad as we inject a burst of sunshine into our interiors. This POPPIN’ selection should keep you sweet until summer does settle in…
Like keen-eyed magpies seeking all things shiny, metallics are forever on our mind. Think high-end shine without the cost in our first top tip for bringing colour back: mixed metals.
Adding a warm glow to your living space (when the temperature doesn’t catch the memo) is easily achieved with brushed golds and grey-toned silvers. Combine with twists of turquoise or striking teals, and filter in fuschias with fresh scented candles – pink is the new nude don’t ya know.
Next up, we gotta bring that light indoors. With sassy clouds refusing to shift, rely on bright coloured basics instead, and edge towards neon with living space staples (raves encouraged). As greenery perseveres as 2017 colour of the year, look for zesty limes or acidic yellows, infused in bedding, candles and throws. Elevate colour with stand-out textures; shimmering sequins will reflect the light, bouncing those rare sunshine rays around the room for a vibrant aesthetic.
Thirsty work, right? As well as those fancy fruit-filled bevs we add to our summer sipping menu, make sure to keep the kitchen in mind when refreshing your space, and line the shelves with accessories that POP. Slogan flasks, ombre tumbler glasses and tea towels add sugar sweet shades to your set up from only €2.50/€3, leaving you with more dollar for BBQ snacks (priorities).
So what you waiting for? Escape that frustrating outdoor chill and find the heat indoors by upping your colour poppin’ game. What’s the temperature? Pfft, who cares – we’re basking in summer in our own bedroom!
