5 Bride-To-Be Tips
Spoiler: Planning a wedding isn’t all flowers and food tasting. I’ll be honest from the off; it’ll take over your life, empty your purse, and make you wish the two of you could run off into the sunset.
The struggle is real. But, don’t worry: it’s not all tears and trauma! With less than six months to go until my wedding, the end in sight, and all our hard work is starting to pay off! To help all you brides-to-be, I’ve noted my top 5 tips for wedding planning sanity-maintenance!
In the midst of invoices and table plans, it’s so nice to know that the celebrations won’t be over in a flash. Whether you’re off to an exotic isle or staycationing, have something on the horizon to look forward to post-wedding!
I’ve lost all concept of money, and regularly question if I’m living in a RL monopoly board. I’m not talking extravagant treats, because ain’t nobody got cash for that, but ticking things off your list deserves a little reward. Celebrate with a facemask, your fave meal, or a movie night… get praising the small victories!
A wedding planner will make you feel all fancy, but to really nail it? Excel. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a to-do list shrink before your very eyes!
Get the important things booked, stat. Once you’ve chosen your venue, dress (priorities), and have the registrar in place, you can relax. My top tip? Book your celebrant in as soon as possible, or risk being stuck with a 10am ceremony, and that’s not fun for anyone!
It’s so easy to become engrossed in the minor details, so step back and think: do I really care about the colour of a napkin?! As soon as you’re engaged, you’re expected to know the difference between peonies and pelargoniums, that a wedding breakfast is in fact dinner, and all 1702 shades of the colour white…it’s a minefield! Will things go wrong? Yes. Will anyone die if the bunting is wonky? No. Whatever happens, you’re marrying your best friend, and nothing else matters!
