The Re:Mark by Jayne Bibby
In a week that has been dominated by news of change, I thought it was a suitable time to discuss a move of my own…to the East…of London that is!
I’m currently in the process of buying a new home, well a new flat to be exact. After spending eight years redecorating and renovating my current place, the thought of starting all over again is both daunting and exhilarating at the same time. And so off to east London I go…
Perhaps I’ll go all out and toast to the beginning of high summer (here’s hoping) with some Fiesta Finishes – after all, those candles and cushions would look great on my new roof terrace!
Or maybe I’ll stick to my usual sense of style, which is more pared back, calm and timeless. I’m thinking grey, cream, and mustard as my accent colour – thoughts? After seeing all the tangerine and vibrant mustards appearing on the men’s catwalks I’m feeling inspired to add the colour of optimism into my own home. If you too are in the midst of a redecoration project, our ‘At Home’ Pinterest board is the perfect starting point.
Beyond home improvements, I can’t wait to explore my new surroundings and brunching is high on my ‘to do’ list. With the perfect little location right at the end of my road, it doesn’t look like I’ll need to go far to enjoy what the hipster community has to offer.
Seeking out new local eateries and travelling are two of my favourite things in life. Our creative team recently headed to Cape Town for our spring/summer campaign shoot and in their downtime took a trip around the coastal city.
If you have South Africa on your travel wish list I certainly recommend spending 24 hours (at least) in Cape Town, not only because it offers breath-taking scenery but it’s also my birthplace. Bias? Me?
The team are just back from shooting our autumn/winter campaign in New York. With NYC being the heart of the brunching scene, you can expect a round up of our favourite foodie destinations on the site shortly as we celebrate our love for our favourite cities!
If you’re about to be head off on a travel adventure yourself, we have the perfect ‘Carry On Essentials’ advice coming to you soon too – stay tuned.
In the meantime, I think I’ll need a holiday after I’ve packed and unpacked all of my boxes, then again maybe I’ll simply opt for a staycation – long weekends at home, shopping at the local food market and interior designing are all sounding pretty enticing right about now.
