Th Re:Mark: Banquet Brag
Can you believe it’s August? What happened to summer? I’m actually still hoping for a surprise heatwave for the rest of August and September - after all, I need to make the most of my roof terrace, and I’m not quite ready to give up afternoons in the park. There is one thing I’m looking forward to with the impending autumn season though – staying in!
With the purchase of a new dining table on my mind and the finishing touches already decided to finally complete my living room, the idea of entertaining at home is fast becoming my favourite daydream.
I’ve become obsessed with looking at other people’s dinner party table decorations – they are quite literally a feast for the eyes. Move over food selfies, it’s now all about the perfectly preened table.
Take a theme and run with it I say, as napkins, table runners, glassware and cutlery all have a very important part to play. Did you know we’re about to start selling copper cutlery – Dream.Come.True – you heard it here first!
One homeware addition that I can’t wait to get my hands on is our new marble collection. Those dreamy candles are going to complement almost any dinner table setting, and the mini vases are ideal for a sprig of eucalyptus too. The best bit though is that they’re timeless and classic and will add the perfect finishing touch to my bespoke banquets all year round.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be eyeing up a green and white colour palette for that instant fresh and oh so Instagram friendly look. And if that’s the case, you might as well go all the way and add some palm prints into the mix. Take some inspo from our tropical stationery collection and pile high the printed notebooks on your coffee table, while adding an elaborate potted fern to show your friends how to entertain in style.
Picture the scene; newly installed white shutters closed. Low lighting created by side lamps and flickering candle light, only amplified by their reflections in the mirror. A glass dining table set for four with a colour theme running throughout and co-ordinating greenery in vases. The addition of short cut roses, peonies or hydrangeas to truly finish off the look. It’s almost as if the dinner table setting is more important than the food…and well, yes it is really.
You know as well as I do that you want your friends to upload that pic, get those likes and instabrag on your behalf! Your front room will soon become to hottest ticket in town and you’ll be dining out on your new found fame all the way into the coldest nights of winter.
