The Re:Mark: Uber Urban Garden
I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of a florist and the Sunday flower market is a particular fave weekend jaunt for me. On a week that saw me take a trip to the House and Garden Festival in London, it’s safe to say my obsession has blossomed and has now turned a shade of green!
One thing no one tells you about becoming a homeowner, is the infatuation with indoor plants that follows. Plus, your mum will be the first to tell you that you need ‘a bit of greenery’ to spruce the place up. My initial urge to roll my eyes (sorry mum) has now turned into a new found love for all things green, and my Pinterest boards are going into overdrive with perfect plant pots, shrub placements, and the trendiest plants to be buying right about now. The answer is the Chinese Monkey Plant – Google it, you won’t be disappointed.
But if plants aren’t your thing, then walk your way into the succulent aisle. They are the perfect house companion for the busy millennial and Gen Z-er as they thrive on neglect. The more you leave them alone, the more they want you! Perfect!
The House and Garden Festival was THE place to be last week and was full of homeware inspo for myself and the editorial team. Look out for our homeware lifestyle tips coming to you very soon from the lovely Rachel, as we explore decorating small spaces and bringing the outdoors in.
And if our dreamy faux plants got you thinking earlier this year, I’m here to tell you that we have some bigger and better faux plants coming in-store soon. Never before has it been so easy to a maintain a lush home.
And better yet, you can take the indoors out too and create a leafy ambience for picnics and outdoor dining. Those little pot plants make great table decorations and if you add some candles and a throw on the back of the chairs you’ll have yourself a summer picnic party in no time.
Speaking of flowers, well roses to be more precise, our new Beauty and the Beast collection is in now store. I repeat, NOW in store! If you thought #Chipgate was bad first time round, I fear it’s about to get a whole lot worse.
To avoid the FOMO get yourself down to store immediately and stock up and all the essentials for your very own BATB garden party – after all you’ve only got until the last rose petal falls, ahem. #SorryNotSorry
