THE REMARK MARCH PRIMARK

The Re:Mark: Get Newness Now!

Now that we’re officially in the month of March, I’m going all out and calling it spring. Ok, so I know the sun might not be shining and the blossom is having a pretty hard time blooming but with my positive head on, spring has sprung.

THE REMARK MARCH PRIMARK

And in true new season form the spring cleaning sesh is ON! I’ve been sorting out my flat from top to bottom. Now with the renovations complete it’s time to get the flat looking homely and like someone actually lives there, rather than a temporary building site! Nothing spurs on a tidy up more than having guests come to stay – I’m too house proud to let them in the door unless everything is perfection! So with the family arriving last weekend a thorough spruce up was in order.

Speaking of house and home, I had the pleasure of meeting Emily Murray of The Pink House fame over brekkie this week – if you’re not familiar with her blog I urge you to check it out, it’s basically #lifegoals for days. She got me thinking about re-decorating, new starts and new seasons and with Easter just around the corner I thought it was as good a time as any to take stock of the year so far. We are nearly a quarter way through it after all…scary thought I know!

I’m not one to need an excuse for shopping but as I’ve just had my new wardrobe fitted I took it as an opportunity to clear out old favourites that now look a bit tired and no longer make me look or feel amazing. As you can probably tell by the previous sentence I’m not one to hoard, in fact I’m the EXACT opposite - minimalism is my middle name, but I’m also not one to miss an opportunity.

So, with a new season and some beaut new trends emerging, I think it’s the perfect time for a little retail therapy, no? Buy less, but buy better I say.

Our spring essentials are already in store and those wardrobe staples are the best place to start when you’re not quite sure what you need but know you want to update your everyday faves. Allow me to give you some pointers if you need to refresh your fashion game.

With all the political awareness out there just now, it would seem that everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has an opinion.  If you fancy flexing your vernacular muscle this season or like saying what you mean and meaning what you say (me too btw!) now is the time to raise a few eyebrows without saying a word. Enter slogan tees that have you covered for all your athleisure, workout and on-trend needs. The biggest chatter boxes of them are the kids (!) and we have fashion tees for the little ones too so they can say it loud and proud and become fluent in fashion.

When it comes to colour I don’t need to tell you that it’s all about pink right now! Whether you want to bring it into your wardrobe, your home, or buy some for your other half, it’s the only shade to be seen in this springtime. And if there’s one thing you can stock up on afresh each season its some desirable denim and when you can wear it top-to-toe it’s a no brainer for morning styling. One thing my wardrobe refresh did teach me is that I’m obsessed with denim jackets – if you’d like to join me in this addiction please do. Hi my name’s Jayne and I’m a denim-oholic!

Now is a prime time to add a hint of newness into your life, spritz up and look sharp. Out with the old and in with the new – especially when it comes to the hero items. Re-focus, refresh and reboot. The sunnier days are a-coming!
