New Year's Beauty Bag Boost

It’s no lie: our makeup bags hold the prettiest palettes and products to make us look oh-so-polished. But a peek inside any glam goddess’s bag can reveal enough cosmetic carnage to make anyone gasp in horror. So beauty baes: when was the last time you gave your beauty bag a good cleaning out? If your answers are “never” or “can’t remember,” then your makeup drawer's probably in a dire state.

With fresh starts in mind, there's no better time than the New Year for a good cosmetics cleanse! Forget those larger-than-life resolutions (that you already know you won’t keep, ahem...), and slide into 2017 with a pristine beauty collection.

1. Damaged? DITCH IT!

Ever felt your heart being crushed into pieces as your fave makeup palette has shattered to smithereens? Then you’ll understand that true heartbreak comes from losing all your fave shades. If the pain hasn’t healed and you’ve left those sad, cracked cosmetics at the bottom of your makeup bag, chances are they’re beyond saving. Be strong and chuck em'.

2. When In Doubt, Toss It Out!

Unfortunately – much as we'd like it to – our number one lipstick love just isn’t going to last forever. Not a pro on make-up’s life expectancy? Don’t worry! We have your back. Using expired makeup is just as bad as eating spoiled food – just Don't. Go. There. Toss powders over two years old, fling foundations you’ve kept more than a year, and take three-month-old mascaras on a trip to the trash. Remember: if that gloss is gloopy, that lipstick smells stale, or your foundation has passed its prime, it’s time to bid it bye-bye.

3. Edit Your Collection

Don’t waste time digging around for the right mascara in a pile of makeup that didn’t make the cut. Save search time, strip back to the bare essentials, and start over. Spread out, separate your products into face, lips, and eyes, then take a look at what you have, what you use, and what needs to go (pulverized eyeshadow should be on the hit-list). Once everything's been refined, its time to replenish! With everything from the base face products to rich lipsticks, our PS Pro premium cosmetics collection has all the necessities any makeup maven will be lusting over…

4. Rethink Your Routine

Whether your beauty regime's an enjoyable and luxurious daily pamper sesh or a morning rush through your everyday essentials, you’re probably using the same products and techniques. Well girls, it’s time to break out of your vanity-table trance and breathe new life into your beauty regime. First stop? Head to our stores to start fresh! Swap inky eyeliner for our subtle eyeshadow palette, get a daytime red lip with a PS Pro rich lipstick, or switch out your full face foundation for our dewy BB cream – natural's not only a SS17 trend, but also saves precious time on manic mornings!

A good clearing out will save your skin (fossilized foundation's a bacteria breeding ground) and getting rid of crusty compacts or musky mascaras will avoid accidentally using bad makeup. So get ready, girls! Kick off 2017 with a healthier, more beautiful you – inside and out!
