SS17 Shimmer In 7 Easy Steps
A smoky eye is like our little black dress: a universally flattering style savior that we reach for EVERY season. For manic mornings when you need a refresh, this smoky eye look will be your BFF. We’re giving the old classic a new look: losing the holiday sparkle and getting rid of the glitter (fi-nal-ly). The best news? This gorgeous look can be yours in 7 easy steps!
STEP 1: PREP AND PRIME
There's nothing worse than eye shadow that smears, smudges and settles into creases. Use our PS… Pro Primer to make sure your shadow sits perfectly and stays put.
STEP 2: CONCEAL
Grab our PS Concealer Palette and apply under your eye. TOP HACK: with our PS Pro... Kabuki Brush, apply the translucent powder over the concealer for a flawless finish. And voilà: your base is set!
STEP 3: EYE SHADOW
Our Nude Eye shadow Palette has every shade of smooth bronze for summery shine. The trick: use lighter shades on the inner corners, and darker shades on the outer.
STEP 4: SMUDGE
One brush for a whole eye look? Promise! Our double-ended smoky brush is all you need. This season we’re going for smooth, soft finish. With gentle strokes, use the bigger side to blend lighter and darker shades together; use the smaller side to smudge the inner corner shadow for eye-widening effect.
STEP 5: DEFINE THE EYE
Now the color's in place, for added boldness you can define the eye with a stroke of black eyeliner along your bottom lash line.
STEP 6: LIGHT LASHES
Faux lashes are taking some time off this season. Instead, lift your lashes with a lash curler and add a few swipes of our Runway Ready mascara. No smoky eye is complete without some lush lashes!
STEP 7: HIGHLIGHT
We can’t forget about the season’s #1 must-have: highlighter, highlighter, highlighter! Use our strobing crayons along your brow bone and the inner corner of your eyes to emphasize and brighten.
With this versatile look in your toolkit, getting ready has just become a whole lot easier. But don't hold back your imagination: experiment with colors, too! If you’ve totes already mastered the smoky eye, why not go for a dramatic, bold look with striking reds and oranges?
