The Budget College Essentials!

This month we have serious butterflies, as students around the world celebrate long-awaited exam results. Packing our bags and heading to new pastures, we’re prepping you for a college move and looking for stylish essentials that won’t break a student budget! Whether you’re stashing a suitcase for your first big move, or looking for some dorm décor refreshes to kick off the new semester, Primark has your back with these tips and treats. With accessories starting at just $2.50, we’re stretching the meaning of "essential" to justify this seriously cool collection…!

Tip #1: A cup of tea can solve everything

Up first: dressing your desk. This space may be the most important area in your dorm. It’s the place for essay breakdowns, coffee spillage and dust collecting. So aside from frantic post-it notes and stacked library books, which budget buys are we adding to the desk?

The coffee to-go cup is always a winner. Thermal flasks are our fave for those "oops I forgot I made tea" moments, though a stylish to-go cup is a perfect choice for sprinting to lectures last minute, hot drink in hand (late? who, us...?). Perch that mug next to file holders and pencil cups (in coordinating colors, please) and your desk will be dressed to turquoise and copper perfection – the color of the season, of course.

Tip #2:  The more towels, the less washing…

You heard it here first – it may take more packing, but hoarding an extra few towels means less of dreaded washing. Our budget-friendly towels give you an excuse to stock up and stash 'em (fold extras under the bed so no one knows your game...) No one's a fan of post-dinner dish-washing, so it’s likely a dish stack will magically appear once a month. When it comes to dealing with the "Jenga" dish game, a few funky tea towels should help. Our adorable collection brightens up the dullest of kitchens. See? Chores can be fun after all…

Tip #3: When all else fails, buy pretty stationery!

Last on our budget essentials list is a perfectly packed pencil case, and guess what? The copper obsession goes on! Add some glam to your organization stash with this cute clip set, and pin up your essay A's with pride above your desk. Gorgeous stationery eases the pain of the inevitable all-nighter--better stock up! Tricky lecture got you down? Head over to Primark: some stationery hauling is sure to soothe the stress.

College shopping's looking up, right? Your first trip to the stores will probably be a frenzy – Mom'll freak out and throw everything in the cart, from spatulas to ice cube trays and three spare phone chargers ("just in case"). Once you’re settled in your new space, surrounded by your fab Primark essentials, it'll feel just like home! So plan your buys, enjoy decorating, and focus on the important stuff (finding new shopping friends, obvs!)
