Trend Focus: Zen Bathroom
With winter hanging around longer than we'd like, we’re dreaming of sunnier places… "dreaming" being the operative word. While sun-drenched ads seem to be everywhere, we're still at our desks, imagining the Vitamin D we could be soaking up in, say, San Juan. Since we can’t magically teleport, we're doing the next best thing – transforming our homes into zen dens.
Given our vacay dismay, our latest obsession is with all things exotic, leafy, lush, and green. Mastering minimalist vibes, and a less-is-more approach, zen is all about living life at a slower pace--and above all, relaxing. So what better place to start than in the bathroom? Light some candles, take a dip in the tub, and transport your mind to sunnier times… pinch us before we drift off!
Check out the fresh color scheme, inspiring quotes and wall art, and oodles of candles. Our white tea candle range has to be one of our ultimate faves, evoking the heady scent of far eastern aromatics, and exotic tea infusions (but we’ll still take that double mocha and a cronut, thanks...).
As for prints, let a gorgeous flourishing palm pattern quench your thirst for palm tree locations… or at least make them more achievable, and less expensive! The vibrant green will do wonders for your mood. It's in the middle of the color spectrum, so it's the most balanced color--meaning the soothing shade needs the least effort to visually process. This little fact has given green a reputation as a ‘restful’ color, and easy on the eyes.
We’re all about making a conscious effort to keep our minds and bodies healthy. Even though the ‘new year, new you’ mantra is wearing thinner than our fave winter undies, while the February freeze takes its sweet time taking off. Pep up your positivity with a few quotes, plaques, and memos. We swear by our simple-yet-effective wall art. This canvas three-pack is the perfect reminder, and works perfectly with our zen trend. For a little mind maintenance and perspective, we highly recommend them… they’re MUCH cheaper than a yoga retreat!
Einstein may have said an empty workspace equals an empty mind, but with all due respect, we need some serious "me time"--and to us that means clean, empty spaces. Ultimately, Zen is all about taking the annual spring clean a step further: cleansing your outlook, as well as your home.
