The Re:Mark: Soirée Season
What a difference a week makes. The temperature's plunged, frosty mornings are here and our winter wardrobes are in full swing. Gone are the mild November days – winter's harsh reality has us in its icy grip. But all is not lost: it's time to let your partywear work its magic and do the talking!
In the week that brought us a supermoon – that’s the moon looking 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual – it's no wonder I’ve gone galactic for partywear. Yes! The party season's well and truly here, so it's time to get serious. Seriously starstruck that is!
Astrological prints are lighting up the fashion skyline, showing up in both teeny and bold galactic formations. Let our contributing writer Lucy Felton of "The Lucy Edit" fame help you shine like a star this festive season.
One of my most recent fashion flirtations has been with all things velvet: velvet heels, velvet dresses – and most importantly, velvet tailored suits. Women’s tailoring totally is on point this season. Those midnight blue blazers with straight, cropped or flared pants currently in-store will see me through the whole season.
But don’t just take my word for it. Our recent collab with UK Vogue showed off some of our best party pieces, styled to perfection with the pantsuit a star player…(not to mention my personal fave). Our luxe suiting comes in lots of style this winter, from brocade to touchable silky fabrics – and of course velvet! It’s all about formalwear-with-a-twist: so get ready to unleash your inner peacock, especially in our teal green number.
I’m currently obsessed with all things homeware and lifestyle blogs, because this week my new apartment enters phase two: renovation station. But when it comes to setting up home for Christmas I’m a bit of a scrooge, opting out of decorating my place at all (because I never spend Christmas in London). I’m planning on going treeless this year too: instead of my usual jaunt north to the snowy hills of Scotland, I’ve got my heart set on Thailand's warmer clime. A bit of a departure for me!
But in the name of artistic license, let me tell you how I'd decorate if I'd stayed home for Christmas this year... Our Marsala Soul homeware trend's color scheme – the name's a hint – is packed with rich, heartwarming hues of spiced orange, saffron yellow and rust red, so you can recreate the souks of Morocco in your own space. And bring the warmth inside when it's sub-zero outside!
Rich mustard yellow is my key accent color at home, so I'm totes all over this new trend. With acres of fairy lights and candles and flashes of gold from trimmings to trinkets, it’s safe to say my pad would be a Yuletide haven. However: since my flight's already booked, I’ll leave it to you to create your very own urban sanctuary in my absence!
