This week we kickoff our "My City, My Story" campaign: a look into the home cities of some of our fave bloggers. From the deets on how a city can steal your heart, to the secret spots you have to visit, we’re taking a fast and furious tour around the world. First stop? Dublin! Travel blogger and all around wanderlust queen Anouska is here to answer our questions and share her love. Dublin's her city, and this is her story…
What's the one thing you always tell people about where you come from?
That it rains a lot! Other than that, I always tell people the Irish really are some of the friendliest people on earth. I always love coming home to Dublin and hearing the accent when I come back from a trip abroad.
What's the best thing about your city?
It’s quite small, so you’re always bumping into people you know!
How would you describe your city's fashion style?
It’s varied and unique. People love to mix high style with street style to create a stunning look, and there are lots of great vintage shops, which I think has a big influence.
Describe a perfect day in your city.
For me, the perfect day in Dublin would start with breakfast in my backyard on a sunny day. Then I’d go into town to meet friends, have lunch and ice cream in St. Stephen’s Green Park. Afterwards, maybe rent a bike and cycle to Phoenix Park, a one-day music festival in the evening, and then dance all night with friends!
Tell us a fun fact about your city that not many people know.
Dublin’s O'Connell Bridge is apparently the only bridge in Europe that is as long as it is wide. Interesting stuff, right...?
What’s your fave secret place in your city?
If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore!
What's one city you've never been to but would love to visit?
Tokyo! I’ve always been fascinated with the culture, the lights, and the technology—I would absolutely love to visit it one day.
Top hacks for a successful shopping trip at your local Primark?
I always go into Primark knowing exactly what I want to buy, but I often get sidetracked by all the great new products arriving every week! Because Primark has so much, I think it’s good to give yourself plenty of time to browse. I especially love the homeware: I always end up buying something new for my room every time I go in!
Lastly... describe your city in three words.
Eclectic, energetic...and friendly!
Why not satisfy that travel craving and check out what else is going down in the world of My City Story? Take inspo from Anouska’s sophisticated city style on Primania (FYI: There's a new #OOTD coming your way EVERYDAY!), then sit back and relax as she does all the walking in her Dublin vlog!
