Our "My City, My Story" campaign is taking a peek at the home cities of some of our fave bloggers. From the deets on how a city can steal your heart to the secret spots you have to visit, we’re taking a fast and furious tour around the world. Next stop? London! Fashionista and blogger-queen Hannah Louise, is here to answer our questions and share her love. London's her city, and this is her story…
If you had to describe your city in just three words, what would they be?
Full of opportunity!
What's the best thing about your city?
On any day or night, there is always something to do.
What's the one thing you always tell people about where you live?
It’s expensive but exciting; you can't compare it with anywhere else in the UK.
How would you describe your city's fashion style?
London fashion is incredibly eclectic. We have everything from art students in the Southeast who are brilliant at casual dressing (and have great clear-framed glasses) to young creatives in Hackney who are really great at vintage shopping; from Fashion Week eccentrics who seem to only appear twice a year, to people in traditional dress from a huge range of cultures. And just about everything in between!
What's one city you've never been to but would love to visit?
I'm desperate to visit Tokyo: it seems so alive and so different from any city in the UK or US.
Describe a perfect morning-to-evening in your city... Including where you’d visit /eat / sightsee etc.
My perfect day in London would always start with a vegan fry-up at Black Cat Café. Then I’d maybe visit some galleries and exhibitions, sit out in one of London’s multiple parks (because on my perfect day the weather would have to be nice!), dinner (including a vegan cheeseboard to start) at Fed in Dalston, and maybe a bit of karaoke or dancing to top off the night.
What's your secret favorite place in your city?
My fave thing to do is eat, so I guess it would have to be a restaurant or café. One place that's less well known is the Waiting Room in Deptford, which does a great vegetarian sausage, cheese and bacon breakfast bagel (among other yummy things) and is super cheap.
Top hacks for a successful shopping trip at your local Primark?
When shopping in any of the big London Primarks, I like to make sure I’m not in a rush because they’re all huge and often quite busy. I think you can find the best pieces if you take your time to look properly!
