New Workwear Style
Ugh: work. Underperforming, lazy, consistently missing the mark… if this sounds like your office wardrobe (and definitely NOT you on a Monday morning), there’s no need to call HR – yet. We have some new recruits for FW17, and are they ever up to the job!
No one likes office gossip (LOLs. Okayyy...!), but those water cooler dwellers will never be silenced – so give 'em something to really talk about this season… your totes incred style, of course! Before you know it, the hottest chat on the floor – besides how you slay EVERY task – will be about where you’re getting those fresh threads. Ready for a style promotion? Apply within...
First on today’s agenda is the blazer: it’s having a massive moment. This time, you can forget the shapeless jacket you wore as a kid – this is SO much more exciting. Our statement red style is bang in the "office-appropriate" category, AND will take you from desk to dinner in no time at all (talk about off-the-charts sass).
Other must-haves on our workwear wish list: the Prince of Wales check jacket – looking new and fresh layered over a hoodie – and double-breasted cuts with military buttons.
Shirts are also reimagined for FW17, with asymmetric cuts, reworked styles, and statement sleeves that breathe new life into the workwear classic. For extra impact, welcome hardware details to the team! Or set up a meeting between tie-front necklines and distressed denim.
Moving on...did you get the memo about dressier pants? Wide-legged and fluid cuts are SO in right now – and totes appropriate for profesh settings. Gone are the days of just commuting in sneaks – keep those bad boys on all day for a casual spin on #dressy. Sportswear in the boardroom a step too far? Go for a pair of can’t-live-without loafers to keep your style rep and manager as happy as can be.
Any other business? Ah, yes. Skirts. A-line styles are holding it down in the skirt department, where zippers and high-shine textures bring a fresh hit. Go bare-legged while it’s still warm enough, and sport sock boots when it’s chilly. On top, everything and anything goes: from Bardot bodysuits to crisp white shirts.
While your skills are by no means linked to your suit sense, feeling good about the way you look does wonders for your confidence and office presentation. Next Monday, show 'em who’s boss: show up to work feeling like CEO of the world. Meeting adjourned!
