The Re:Mark: Uber-Urban Garden
I’ve always had a florist thing going on: the Sunday flower market is a particular fave weekend trip for me. This week, I checked out the House and Garden Festival in London – and it’s safe to say my obsession has blossomed into a shade of green!
One thing no one tells you about becoming a homeowner: the infatuation with indoor plants that comes with it. Plus, your mum will be the first to tell you that "you need some greens in here" to spruce the place up! My initial urge for an eye-roll (sorry Mum) has now turned into a newfound love for all things green, and my Pinterest boards are going into overdrive with perfect plant pots, shrub spots, and the trendiest plants to be buying right now. The answer? The Chinese Money Plant – Google it, you won’t be disappointed.
Plants not your thing? Then stroll on over to the succulents aisle. They're the perfect house companion for the super-busy millennial and Gen Z-er: they thrive on neglect! The more you leave 'em alone, the more they want you... Perfect!
The House and Garden Festival was THE place to be last week, full of homeware inspo for myself and the editorial team. Look for our Homeware lifestyle tips, on their way to you soon from the lovely Rachel: we'll explore decorating small spaces and bringing the outdoors in.
And if our dreamy faux plants had you thinking earlier this year, I’m here to tell you we have some bigger and better faux plants coming in-store soon. Never before has it been so easy to have a lush pad!
Better yet, you can take the indoors out, and create a leafy stage set for picnics and outdoor dining. Those little potted plants make great table decorations; add some candles and some throw on the back of the chairs for a summer picnic party in no time.
Speaking of flowers...well, roses to be more precise: our new Beauty and the Beast collection is now in-store... I repeat, NOW in-store! If you thought #Chipgate was bad the first time, I'm afraid it’s about to get a whole lot worse...
Avoid the FOMO: get yourself to the store Right. Now. And stock up on all the essentials for your very own BATB garden party – quick! You only have until the last rose petal falls (ahem)! #SorryNotSorry
