The Re:Mark: Summer's Here!☀️
As the sun FINALLY starts to show up in London this week, the hot summer lifestyle's out in force. The sidewalks are packed with diners, whole Saturdays are spent picnicking in the park, and the long, light evenings turn to late-night socializing every day of the week. Oh summer, how I’ve missed you...welcome back!
There’s nothing I love more than making the most of a sun-soaked summer’s day. I start early with an outdoor brunch to catch up with friends, then hit the local food or flower market to stock up for the week. The big question: What do you wear when an early breakfast turns into a sunbathing sesh, with some shopping in between?
The one-piece swimsuit's staging a major comeback, so I think it’s about time we all embrace it for everyday: think of it as the new bodysuit (you know how much we all fell in love with that!). This is no different – it just has a midsummer difference, like maybe a high-shine finish. Imagine if you will...a low-back swimsuit with high-waist denim cutoffs. Perfection. Or a Bardot suit with a little print miniskirt. Have to see it to believe it? Head right this way, as Jodie talks you through slaying your swimwear style.
You always want to look fab in summer, whether flashing the flesh in a sundress or denim shorts. I work out all year but really amp it up when it gets hot: spinning, yoga, Pilates – you name it, I’m in a class. Besides giving great endorphins, it’s the best way to kick start your day. And just because the hype’s died down, don’t go thinking athleisure is over – it’s very much alive and well!
Whether you wear it to the gym or use it as your usual weekend go-to, it's still majorly on trend. Let our guest editor Rebecca Gillam give you to the 411 on what’s been going on behind the scenes with the Primark workout crew, and how you can wear your gear this season.
And with festival season about to start, it’s all about the details... I just love it when summer hair accessories suddenly come out to play! Whether it’s a flower crown or a decorated bun, or your scarf suddenly becomes your fave headband, keeping your hair out of your eyes and topping off your look is the kind of accessorizing I can get behind. Freya has captured it ALL especially for you with her festival looks that you should check out this year.
Makeup bag not yet down with the draping trend? I'm here to tell you, it’s not as scary as it sounds. If you’re not a sun worshiper, this is the one for you! Think contouring but with blush – I’ve tried it and LOVE it, and I’m pretty sure you will too! A healthy glow and cool pink lipstick to match: your summer look win!
Now it’s about time I stop writing and start enjoying this sun... Happy sunbathing everybody!
