THE REMARK MARCH PRIMARK

The Re:Mark: Get Newness Now!

Now that it's officially March, I’m going all out and calling it spring. Okay, so I know the sun might not be shining and the blossom is having a pretty hard time blooming – but with the power of positive thinking, for me, spring has already sprung.

THE REMARK MARCH PRIMARK

And in true new-season form, the spring cleaning sesh is ON! I’ve been working on my flat from top to bottom. With the renovations complete, it’s time to get my space looking homey and like someone actually lives there, instead of building site! Nothing spurs a cleanup more than having guests come to stay – I’m too house-proud to let them in the door unless everything's perfect! So with the family arriving last weekend, a thorough spruce-up was in order.

Speaking of house and home, I had the pleasure of meeting Emily Murray of "The Pink House" fame over breakfast this week – if you’re not familiar with her blog, check it out: it’s basically #lifegoals for days! She got me thinking about redecorating, new starts and new seasons. And with Easter just around the corner, I thought it was as good a time as any to take stock of the year so far. After all, we're almost a quarter of the way through it…I know: scary thought!

I don't need an excuse for shopping! But since I’ve just had my new closet put in, I took it as a chance to clear out old faves that look a bit tired and no longer make me look or feel amazing. As you can probably tell by the previous sentence, I’m not a pack rat. In fact, I’m the EXACT opposite: minimalism's my middle name. But I’m also not one to miss an opportunity.

So with a new season and some gorgeous new trends coming out, I think it’s the perfect time for a little retail therapy, no? Buy less but buy smarter, I say.

Our spring essentials are already in store: these wardrobe musts are the best place to start when you’re not quite sure what you need, but know you want to update your everyday faves. Need to refresh your fashion game? Let me give you some pointers.

With all the political awareness out there just now, it seems everyone – and I mean EVERYONE – has an opinion. Like saying what you mean and meaning what you say (me too, btw!)? Now 's the time to raise a few eyebrows without saying a word. Enter slogan tees: they have you covered for all your athleisure, workout and trending needs. The biggest chatterboxes among them are the kids' (!) and we have trendy tees for the little ones, too – so they can say it loud and proud and become fluent in fashion.

When it comes to color, I don’t need to tell you that it’s all about pink right now! Whether you want to bring it into your wardrobe or home, or buy some for your other half, it’s the only shade to be seen in this spring. And if there’s one thing you can stock up on again each season, it's some desirable denim: when you can wear it top-to-toe, it’s a no-brainer for morning styling. One thing my wardrobe refresh did teach me is that I’m obsessed with denim jackets – if you’d like to join me in this addiction, please do! Hi, my name’s Jayne, and I’m a denim-oholic!

Now's a prime time to add a dash of newness into your life: spritz up and look sharp! Out with the old and in with the new – especially when it comes to the workhorse pieces. Refocus, refresh and reboot. Sunnier days are on their way!
