Bras: The Perfect Fit
Straps, wires, hooks… we’re not talking medieval torture, baes, we’re talking bras. Weirdly, the same vocab, but – newsflash! – a bra shouldn't be torture.
No two bodies are the same, right? Which means finding the perfect bra can be pretty tough work. Don't. Freak. Out. If you want or need to wear one, we've got your back with our stress-skipping Bra Fit Guide. 😃(Pssst! Check out the hacks from our lingerie buyers!)
We all think we know what size we are. But if you’re really 100% a 34D, what’s that huge space saying otherwise between your boobs and your bra? And let's not forget dealing with "double boobs" – it's nature's way of saying your bra is just too small. Listen up, baes: it's time to free yourself. Go up a cup size, and unleash the extra boobage. Then revel in a return to simpler times...when you only had two to think about. Yippeee! What does our expert say about cup slip-up?...
Our expert says: "If the cups are too big, you'll notice gaping along the top of the cup and the back will ride up – it means you're giving up support, whichis the reason for the bra in the first place."
Our expert says: "If the cups are too small, you're at risk of seriously damaging your breast tissue. The underwire should sit under the natural curve of your breast and not dig in."
Newsflash: it’s NOT okay for your bra to be super uncomfortable. Whether the back is too tight or too loose, you have problems. Let's find out what our lingerie buyer says about this...
Our expert says: "If the back of your bra is riding up, it’s because it’s too loose. And if there's nothing to anchor and secure the back, the cups won't be supportive, either. You can usually fix it by going down a back size."
Our expert says: "If the back's too tight, you’ll notice narrowing around the wings and back. This is from over-stretching, and can lead to increased pressure around the cups and shoulders."
Don't get lazy with loose straps. It’s totally unnecessary and easily fixed: just adjust the straps. On the other hand, too-tight straps will dig in – and who wants that?! Get that Goldilocks zone of perfectly-adjusted strappage with these handy hacks...
Our expert says: "A perfectly-adjusted strap should let you comfortably fit a single finger under it, without having to wrestle it away from your skin."
Our expert says: "If bra straps are too loose, they'll fall down and you’ll notice the cups gaping. If you're in the right size, a quick adjustment will take care of it."
