Primark is delighted to announce the expansion of its partnership with Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children across its growing network of over 60 stores in Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Spain and Portugal. This builds upon Primark’s existing partnership with Newlife, which has been in operation across the UK since 2010 and ROI since 2011, and has resulted in more than €1 million in funding for Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children.
Under the scheme, unwanted merchandise is collected, sorted and recycled, in an environmentally sound manner, and all profits used in support of the work of Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children. The charity has played a leading role in the establishment in 2012 of Europe's first dedicated Birth Defects Research Centre and also provides support to aid children affected by all disabilities in the UK.
Primark’s European wide partnership with Newlife will ensure essential funding can continue to be invested in this ground-breaking research. Mrs Sheila Brown OBE, Newlife’s Co-Founder and CEO said, “We are delighted that Primark in Europe are playing such a key recycling role that will further protect our environment and will also help improve the health and welfare of our precious children”.
