    Structural building inspections in Bangladesh

    Primark has recently begun a programme of building surveys in Bangladesh in order to assess the structural integrity of factories from which it sources garments. Primark is committed to inspecting all factories in Bangladesh producing products for the company as part of the assessment programme.

    Short-term financial assistance announced

    Primark will offer short-term financial assistance to Rana Plaza victims. Primark is announcing today that it is taking unilateral action to try to alleviate the immediate suffering of the victims of the Rana Plaza building collapse.

    Signing the Accord

    Primark has committed today to signing the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, initiated by the IndustriALL and UNI Global Unions.

    Comprehensive support package announced

    Primark is working on a comprehensive support package for workers affected by the disaster in Bangladesh. The fate of all the employees in the entire complex has still not been confirmed and a list of employees has not yet been established because many records were destroyed when the building collapsed.
