Valentine's Date Night Tutorial
Looking for a simple but oh-so-effective makeup look this Valentine's? Read on.
If you're lucky enough to be getting whisked off for a hot date tomorrow night, this handy tutorial is here to help you look a million dollars. All for a cool £10 (£10.50 to be precise!). You can thank me later.
Once you've done your base (primer/foundation/concealer etc) with all your favourites, we can move on to the fun bit - the eyes.
Start by covering the eyelids up to the brow with our P.S. Liquid Glow highlighting cream £3, this will add some definition, the light will reflect on the brow bone, giving you a deeper finish when combined with eyeshadow. Layer on some of our iridescent taupe P.S. Eyeshadow £1 on to the lid and a spot in the corner of each eye - this will give you that youthful spritely look.
Once you're covered in sparkly shimmer, use any remaining product on the top of your cheekbones to create the same effect. Now for the fiddly bit: liquid eyeliner. Fortunately, our P.S. Felt Liner Pen £1.50 is delightfully precise and won't leave you fitting in with the pandas! Bonus.
Draw on a cat eye flick by outlining the shape and filling in afterwards, like a very intricate colouring book, on your face. Once you're looking every inch the 60s babe, slick some of the P.S. Kohl Liner £1.50 onto your waterline. Be as liberal with this as you like, but you might want to keep it more subtle for a date during the day. Round off with a gazillion layers of our P.S. Lift & Curl Mascara £2 and you're good to go with the peepers.
Despite the fact they're undoubtedly going to get smushed up, be it by a delicious meal or another pair of lips (here's hoping for both, eh?), accentuating your lips is a simple but effective way of getting your date's attention. Firstly, cover your lips with concealer which will give you a blank canvas for colour popping.
Take the candy pink P.S. Lip Stain Pen £1.50, which is a clutch bag LIFESAVER, as it works as both a lip liner and lip colour in one. The felt pen applicator will allow you to properly outline your cupid's bow, which is best done by drawing two lines that criss-cross at the very centre of your lip.
Fill in the colour and revel in the knowledge that you're not wearing a slippy slidey lipstick, this stuff goes the distance. After wearing all day, I haven't felt any particular dryness, but you might want to dab a smidge of lipbalm on if you're prone to chapping.
So there you have it! Now go enjoy yourselves, you loved up young things. Oh, and one last tip: don't forget the perfume. Did you know we sold those too? And you'll still have enough money left over to grab a taxi if your date's diabolical... Good luck. ;)
