Driving Home for Christmas!
Now the schools are all shut and our work desks tided, we’re prepping to head home for the holidays. With presents all packed and a suitcase to-go, it’s time to face the traffic, arguments and festive music as we drive home for Christmas! If you’ve a long trek ahead then fear not, we know just what to pack, with the perfect accessories to suit your journey. So for tips on travel, our favourite accessories and the best Christmas playlist to zone out to, keep reading!
Our number one requirement for a bearable car journey has to be the music. The DJ (yes, you will be bestowed this title), has the potential to shift the mood from bland to grand with the flick of the ‘next button’. It’s a hefty role to take on folks, but we’ve got your back. So which tunes should you be bopping to? Well, we’re ambassadors for the classics, so any of your travel party feeling the festive hump will soon turn that frown upside down with a blast of Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody (we can hear you singing it from here). Bring out Mariah for a little crowd pleaser (All I Want For Christmas Is You, obvs), and top it off with some WHAM! Sore throats are guaranteed.
Should the music not be to your liking (excuse you), then worry not, we’ve got the chicest wintertime accessory to keep you zoned out of the festive fun, and into your own playlist. These pebble headphones are seriously beaut, proving a perfect Christmas gift for friends and fam also! £7 is a small price to pay to get you through a lengthy journey with siblings, drown it out gang, drown it out.
So what else to stash in that car seat carry-on bag? The hot water bottle is one of the mini miracles of travelling by car to your destination, fill it up pre-ride then hop in the car and snuggle! That warmth should keep you going for a few hours into the journey, by which time, once you’ve taken advantage of the neck pillow, you’ll be in the sweet land of dreams. Grab a notebook for planning that Christmas dinner rota, and a camera for mandatory mug shots of your snoozing-off sister (evidence that will come in handy), and you’re good to go!
Now you’re all packed up, it’s time to get travelling! However long it takes to reach your friends and fam this season, the presents the memories will definitely make it worth it. Sing it with us! Driving home for Christmas…
