Summertime garden party!
The clock strikes 5pm. That glorious time of day we’ve been dreaming of since we dragged ourselves away from our OTP (our bed, obvs). Switch that brain off and strut those tired legs (summer bod in progress) out the door to start party prepping. First stop: the shop for BBQ stash and all the snacks. The fairy lights are hanging, the music is cranked up, and we’re just waiting on the door bell to ring – PARTAY TIME AWAITS. We’re all counting the minutes ‘til the garden party becomes a week day possibility, chilling with the squad, eating all the skewers and sipping on juicy bevs. But when it comes to hosting, should you bestow the honour, your garden should look as FAB as the interiors it’s attached to. So, our little socialites, here’s your guide to hosting the only party on the social calendar this year… a perfect garden party.
Circular cushion £5, tassel cushion £5, throw £4
We’ve spotted the sun folks, this occasion is not far off. When it comes to hosting a stellar party, a checklist is always necessary. Top priority: chairs. We’re through with the impromptu musical chairs game at each social event, sacrificing our seat each time we nip to the loo. Lay out the chairs and layer then up with dreamy cushions and neon-coloured throws. Should that temp drop post-11pm (YES mum we’ll still be out ‘til then…), you’ll be grateful for these super soft, chic looking babies.
Copper lights £4
Mini tin candles £2, large tin candle £3
Next up: snackage. Your friend asks ‘shall I bring anything?’ translation: ‘you are providing 5 flavours of crisp right?’ ALWAYS. Crisps, sweets and token carrot batons – done, done and done. Save the strawberries for pretty-looking punch, and house inside our beaut selection of picnic cups. Smoothies more your thang? Take inspiration from our delicious vid below – spoiled rotten you lot are.
Giraffe candle £3, printed vase £4
Finally: set the scene. If 2017 has taught us anything so far, it’s that a party didn’t happen unless it was on Snapchat. Make it a set-up worth snapping: fairy lights and candles suit dusky evenings like ketchup to a French fry (yep, drooling), so string twinkly lights wherever you can and get candles burning for a sweet summer ambience.
You got this Primark pals, you were born to host (well, with a little help from our homeware section that is). With your set up looking fly from only £2 😱, and a BBQ on the go, all that’s left is to enjoy it. P-A-R-T-Y time! You will invite us right?
