Get the pink party started!
It’s the colour of the season and it’s here to heat up your home... Emily Murray from award-winning interior blog The Pink House explains why pink is perfect for that White Isle vibe.
OK, I’ll admit to being just a teeny bit obsessed with pink – I have pink hair after all. And a blog called The Pink House. But I’m not being biased when I say my favourite colour is spot-on for your home this spring.
Not only is pink THE hottest hue in home decor right now (honest!), it’s also a bright, positive colour that hints at holiday sunsets and sunrises to come. Our chilly legs might still be encased in opaques, but thanks to pink, we can heat things up at home faster than you can say ‘rose-tinted sunglasses’.
Soft, stylish lighting is key to getting the party started. Ibiza’s not in full swing quite yet, but you can bring the Balearics to your bedroom, bathroom or back garden with just a few rose-hued candles – I’m loving this raspberry-and-vanilla number; not only does it look super cute but the scent’s sure to get you in the holiday mood.
Spring is definitely the perfect time to rock a verdant vibe. And pink is BFFs with green, the natural world’s colour of the season. Meaning there’s no better time than right now to stock up on pot plants and pair them with pops of pink (flamingos come highly recommended).
What if, like me, you’re more pink- then green-fingered? Never fear; you can still test the tropical look by investing in a few succulents. These cuties of the plant world are not only bang on trend, but also pretty hard to kill (I’ve tried and failed). Better yet, go faux, with these artificial plants!
Fancy a bit of laid-back beach boho? Then it’s time layer it on with patterned pink cushions, throws and fairy lights. Unicorns and disco balls are optional, but highly recommended – this is a party after all! Simply string up a hammock (inside or outside), fire up the chill-out tunes and invite your mates round for a lazy Sunday. Café del Mar eat your heart out…who needs the White Isle when you’ve got pink!
