Sports Fusion: LCM

London Collections: Men, the capital's biannual celebration of men's fashion, is a guaranteed hotspot for some of the most style-conscious men around - and we're not talking about those storming the catwalks.

Street style consistently delivers some of the freshest, most interesting fashion choices and this season was no different. In a city famed for its streetwear output, sportswear continued to dominate as a strong and overarching street style trend. With interpretations ranging from literal, to off-beat and subtle.

As ever, trends evolve and this season saw the much-loved penchant for sportswear meet an unlikely contrast.

Dapper gents apparently dug into their gym bags and adopted a more casual approach to classic tailoring, resulting in a look we're calling 'Sports Fusion'.

Sports Fusion is all about the gentrification of athletic key items and casualwear. Three-piece suits receive fresh interpretation with trousers nonchalantly turned-up at the hem to show off crisp trainers or running shoes.

Loose printed shirts trumped the classic crisp white and jersey roll necks worthy of a work-out became a key layering item.

Accessories included functional backpacks and sports socks while sports labels and logos were favoured over jewellery.

Another gym-kit-inspired look that caught our eye took sports in a whole new direction.

'Future Sports' is a look for the bolder gentleman. Long-line, androgynous silhouettes tend to dominate this trend, with layering and proportion both playing key roles.

The more brazen the better; when it comes to palette, think bold hues or dramatic head-to-toe black to make an impact.

Footwear silhouettes break with traditional styles and look slightly futuristic without seams or loud logos.
