Check Mate: London Collections Men

Our second street style instalment from London Collections: Men, continues with the tailored theme. If anyone knows how to wear dress up a three-piece suit, yet retain an easy-to-wear aesthetic it’s the fashion crowd at menswear fashion week. Get ready to be inspired.

On the streets of London, checks remained a favourite for tailoring and looked more playful in outsized proportions and new colourway combinations. Merlot, evergreen and rich chocolate shades looked newest, injecting a soft colour accent into formalwear and updating it for the younger man.

The three-piece suit reigned supreme for a classically smart aesthetic and continues to be a favourite for the 35 plus man. While at the younger end of the spectrum, we saw the fast-fashion customer wear bold checks with skinny jeans and luxe sport shoes, adopting an easy, thrown together attitude.
