Glastonbury Survival Kit

It’s that time of year again and the festival schedule is about to get off to a raucous start with Glastonbury opening its gates once again from the 24th to 28th June. Thousands of revellers, hundreds of acts, outfits for five days, and only one bag – the question is, what are you going to pack into yours?

If you’re unsure of what to take with you this year or if you’re a Glastonbury virgin, then Primark has got you covered and is the perfect one-stop-shop pre Glasto. Here are the essentials to make sure the only thing you need to worry about this festival season is being at the right stage at the right time.

We all know you want to remain looking good and feeling fresh despite the lack of showers and shaving sessions, so it’s vital to go prepared. We recommend packing a toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash as essentials – not only will they make you instantly feel clean and awake each morning but it will keep your breath fresh all day.  Throw in your favourite mini deodorant and Primark’s fragrance ‘Volume 1’ to keep you smelling good and don’t forget the sunscreen – there is absolutely nothing worse that getting burnt on day one.

You want to make getting ready each morning as quick and easy as possible so that no partying time is wasted.  We recommend packing a small towel so you can at least attempt a hair wash – even if it is only under cold water, and allow our grooming kit to maintain beards, moustaches and eyebrows for the duration of the festival. But if all that still fails to wake you up then as a last ditch attempt, simply throw on your aviators and straw trilby and you’re good to go.

We all know that capturing those scene setting pictures, instagramming religiously to make your friends at home jealous and taking as many group selfies as possible is just as important as catching all of your favourite band's sets.

So you have to be tech savvy. Charge up your rechargeable phone battery before you go and keep it close, take an iphone bluetooth speaker with you for after hours around your tent and don’t forget to throw in your fold up selfie stick.

And the next question is – what are you going to wear? We suggest planning each day’s outfit before you go and mix and match to keep packing down to a minimum, thus also making getting ready each morning quicker than ever. Why not take some style inspiration from the biggest revellers of them all – the celebrity crowd - and pack accordingly.

Come rain or shine you’re going to be out and about all day so it’s all about layering. Whether you’re a skinny jean wearer or denim shorts are your summer staple make sure you take two colour options, ideally light blue and black making them interchangeable with any t-shirt and jumper combo.

This summer is all about tribal prints and the ubiquitous polka dot, either in bold colour combinations or kept low key in monochrome, so make sure you pack a couple of t-shirts and short sleeved shirt styles and team them with simple jersey sweatshirts for the colder nights. Don’t get caught out by the bad weather - make sure that alongside your canvas lace ups you pack your wellies and a lightweight rain mac or parka too.

All Primark outfits are under £50 and Survival Kit essentials start at £1

So whether it’s Glastonbury you’re heading off to or somewhere further a field to get your hit of the festival scene this summer make sure you’re fully prepped. Why not upload your favourite Primark festival looks to Primania when you get back – we’d love to see them!
