The Re:Mark: Get Shopping Savvy!
Written by Jayne Bibby
It’s the holiday season. Time to be jolly and bright, right? Wrong: cue internal panic as you realise you STILL have to buy gifts for the entire family, in-laws, baby nephews and the dear old neighbour that you mum so kindly invited to join you! If you, like me, have left it to the last minute, then fear not as help is on hand in the form of Primark’s digital fairy, aka moi!
'Tis the gift guide season. That time in the festive calendar when we all set out to buy for our friends and loved ones but end up shopping for ourselves instead #SorryNotSorry. So now that you’ve hit the pre-Christmas sales and stocked up on winter wardrobe goodies for yourself it’s time to get serious and get down to business. This is not a drill!
I’ve even managed to make it harder for myself this year. As I’ve decided to rebel against all family tradition and jet off to sunnier climes to see in Christmas and New Year, I am now faced with the reality of shopping, wrapping and shipping earlier than normally needed. Cue hands to face in Macaulay Culkin Home Alone stylie!
My best bet is to make a list (and check it twice, ahem), get down to store pronto and make the most of gift wrapping services – my absolute favourite. I am a shameful Christmas Eve and Christmas morning kind of wrapper so there no love lost with not doing my own this year.
The problem is, the world is full of the ‘difficult to buy for’ type people which results in buying something a) that is totally inappropriate, b) highly expensive because you thought you could blindsight them with your generosity or c) you get utterly fed up and lost while out shopping so end up choosing something for yourself instead – sound familiar?
In my family we send out wish lists to each other so we can’t go far wrong. We’re all too old to buy or receive something we don’t like or won’t use. Plus, I’m a nightmare to buy for so I tend to err on the side of being pedantic!
Now that we’re in the month of December, I declare ‘The Christmas shopping season’ in full swing, and so I urge to keep a keen eye on our new arrivals pages. With over 100 new lines landing in store daily you’ve come to the right place for all things, cheerful, cosy and chic, oh and super affordable obvs!
The Primark elves are out in full swing this year too and we have gift guides galore on the site to inspire and time save. Whether you have a baby’s first Christmas in your household this year, need gifts for the girlies, want to cover off your brother, dad and uncle in one fell swoop, or you’re in charge of decorating the tree and dinner table this year come on down!
If all else fails then we all know that a gift card is the way to go. And if actually going down to your local Primark store seems far too much effort, why not just log on to Primark.com where you can now buy e-gift cards that can be delivered straight to the recipient’s inbox. Clever huh?
Well now that you’re all sorted, I just need to do my Christmas shopping. Wish me luck!
