The Re:Mark: Soirée season
What a difference a week makes. The temperature has dropped, the frosty mornings are making an appearance and our winter wardrobes are in full swing. Gone are the mild November days and the harsh reality of winter is very much upon us. All is not lost however, as its time to let you party wear work its magic and do the talking.
In the week that saw a supermoon make an appearance – that’s the moon appearing 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual to you and I – it comes as no surprise that I’ve gone galactic for party wear. That’s right, the party season is well and truly upon us and it’s time to get serious. Seriously star-struck that is.
Astrological prints are lighting up the fashion skyline and appearing in both ditsy and bold galactic formations. Allow our contributing writer Lucy Felton, of The Lucy Edit fame, help you shine like a star this festive season.
One of my most recent fashion flirtations has been with all things velvet; velvet heels, dresses and most importantly tailored suits. Women’s tailoring is on point this season and those midnight blue blazers with straight, cropped or flared trousers currently in store are going to see me through the entire season.
And don’t just take my word for it. Our recent collaboration with UK Vogue showed off some of our best party pieces styled up to perfection with the trouser suit being a main player…as well as my personal fav. Our luxe suiting is available in many formations this winter from brocade, to luxe silky handles, and of course velvet. It’s all about formalwear with a twist so get ready to unleash your inner peacock – especially in our teal green number.
I’m currently obsessed with all things homeware and lifestyle blogs as this week the new flat enters phase two - renovation station. However, when it comes to setting up home for all things Christmas I’m a bit of a scrooge, opting out of decorating my flat at all as I never spend Christmas in London. I’m planning on going sans tree this year too, as instead of my usual jaunt up north to the snowy hills of Scotland I’ve got my heart set on the warmer climes of Thailand. A bit of a departure from the norm, I know.
But in the name of artistic license, allow me to tell you how I would decorate my flat had I been planning to spend Christmas there this year. The palette of our Marsala Soul homeware trend, as the name would suggest, is packed full with rich and heart-warming hues of spiced orange, saffron yellow and rust red – allowing you to create the souks of Morocco in your own home and bring the warmth indoors when its sub-zero outside.
As rich mustard is my key accent colour at home, I am all over this new trend. With fairy lights and candles in abundance and flashes of gold from trimmings to trinkets, it’s safe to say to would be a Yuletide haven. However, with my flights already booked I’ll leave it up to you to create your very own urban sanctuary in my absence.
