Primark Q&A Milan

If you had to describe your city in three words what would they be?

Unusual treasure hunt!

What is the one thing you always tell people about where you come from?

Do you know the Milanese dish, risotto with ossobuco? You’ll love it.

What is the best thing about your city?

Milan is the most contemporary and chaotic city in Italy. The beauty of Milan is not obvious, it has to be discovered. I defined it as an unusual treasure hunt, and exploring it is my favourite game.

How would you describe the fashion style of your city?

Milanese style is creative, unexpectedly conservative, and always has a twist of sophistication.

Which city are you yet to visit, but would love to see?

Berlin, I have never been! Shame on me. At the start of autumn, I daydream of visiting the zoo, the Mitte, the hipster cafes, and soaking up classic Berlin vibes.

What are your top tips for a successful shopping trip at your local Primark?

Find a shopping mate, who has a car. Wear flats. And don’t forget to check out the accessories section for interesting jewellery. Also - enjoy!

Describe a perfect day in your city... Including where you’d visit /eat/sightsee.

Start with a blueberry crunchy croissant at my favourite old school cafè, Gattullo. Then, feast your eyes on some floral treats at Clori, in the majestic Piazza Sant’Eustorgio. Afterwards, feed your brain with an exhibition at Museo del Novecento.

For lunch? Try oTTo, Al Salumaio, God Save The Food, or Asola... there are so many places to sample different flavours. After lunch, take a walk through 5vie, and don’t miss a chance to stop by Wait & See - my fave concept store - as well as Colonne di San Lorenzo, Porta Ticinese, til Tortona.

Tired? It’s only aperitivo time! Try Mag cafè or Cucchi, depending on the vibe you're looking for. In the evening, treat yourself to a final gourmet stop at Drogheria Milanese, Giacomo Bistrot or Langosteria for a casual, fancy, or charming dining experience. End your day at Roommate Giulia or Ostello Bello for some well-deserved beauty sleep!

What is your secret favourite place in your city?

If you ask me where you can escape to enjoy a good book, to think and dream, and to stop and reflect, I always go to Villa Necchi - my favourite surreal hideaway. Villa Necchi is an elegant building from the 1930s, incredibly innovative for the time, and even for today, thanks architect Piero Portaluppi.
