The Re:Mark:Read All About It!
I’m never far away from talking about holidays, travel and how much I crave that jet set lifestyle. And there is one thing that I always think of when I’m planning my next getaway; my reading list. Think of that book as your travel companion, beach buddy and sunset soul mate - it’s got your back all day long.
I know the electronic reading device has been ‘a thing’ for a few years now but I’m an old school kinda gal and I like to hold an actual book in my hands while ‘laxing on a beach. Some people like to keep a new book looking pristine, like a piece of shelf art, but I’m the complete opposite. I like nothing more than inviting a new novel into my life and not letting it out of my sight until its well-thumbed, bleached yellow by the sun, and covered in the kind of creases that take a lifetime to create. I think if you love your new read it should look loveworn by the time you finish it, no?
As the summer sun seems to be fading in London, I’m reminiscing about holidays past, present and future. It’s definitely time to book an end of summer trip when the daydreaming starts to take over. I am yet to go away this summer but I have big plans for September and October. I prefer to go away when it starts to get colder at home so you can let the summer vibe last that little bit longer through a great tan and holiday snaps, aka instagram!

The best thing about going away later in the year is the tan triumph when you touch back down. Plus, it makes your new autumn wardrobe look even better and you can indulge in the winter brights of red and hot pink against your newly tanned skin! Whether back to college is a fact for you, or just your mind-set your preppy new threads are awaiting you in store right about now.
The first thing on your post-holiday shopping list should be a new pair of denims – you can never have too many now can you? Sometimes I think my denim wardrobe is going to take over I have so many jeans crammed in! But all I'm interested in now are my denim cut offs, 'cos summer is very much still alive as far as I'm concerned. Now where did I leave that book..?
