If your nearing the end of the summer hols, and getting a serious case of the 'new season, new term' closet itch, listen up. Achieving go get ‘em outfits, with punchy styling flourishes, doesn’t have to mean hours of slaving away in the wardrobe, thanks to autumn/winter’s latest trend refreshers. Whether it’s back to school, college or uni, we bet you’re SO ready for a gigantic hit of newness...
Shirt £9, coat £20, jeans £10
Hoodie £8, skirt £8
First up, try the forever-loved lumberjack shirt on for size - the tried and tested style superhero, with laid-back feels. (FYI: big-name designers sent 90’s-inspired plaid shirts down the AW17 runways, so you’re in great company.) Oh, and whatever you do, do not forget to grab yourself a bomber jacket in a cropped, quilted, puffa design. Throw in a playful faux fur trim and you’re golden.
Next up, grab a big dose of varsity with a statement jersey or two. Make yours slightly oversized, colourful, and of the sweater variety, then pair it with a leatherette skirt, like you’ve seen all over Insta! Craving something more formal? You won’t find anything more Pinterest-worthy than a Prince of Wales check blazer. Pure fashion royalty (literally), it's gone through a ton of tweaks and transformations over the years, but keeping it smart and streamlined is the way to go.
Jumper £10, jeans £13
Blazer £17, hoodie £7, jeans £15
Continue the collegiate feels, with a slouchy layer underneath your blazer - hunt the ones with great graphics and motifs. Finish your look with studded ankle boots for a punk twist - opting for pointy boots, with a low, block heel will ensure the look stays grounded in 'everyday' territory. Pretty and practical. Bye bye summer threads, hello fuss-free new season!
