We all deserve soft, hydrated lips and there’s nothing more irritating than when they’re sore and dry. Plus, soft lips make the perfect base for wearing your favourite lipstick, even if it is just for a zoom glam look. Check off the essentials of your very own lip care kit with our top tips below.

Time To Exfoliate

If you need to rid yourself of chapped lips, then lip scrubs are the way forward. Pick up a lip exfoliator or create your own by mixing together honey, oil and sugar, applying to your lips in a circular motion and rinsing with warm water. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, starting with once a week and increasing to a maximum of three times if needed!

How To Hydrate

For those of you who want a hydrated and glossy look, then lip oils are the perfect alternative to lip gloss while maintaining the same iconic finish. But to keep your lips moisturised don’t forget to use an SPF lip balm to protect them from sunny rays, yep even in the winter! Then as always, stay topped up with water throughout the day, it’s key to hydrate yourself from the inside out!

Things To Avoid

Try to avoid biting and picking at your lips, not only will this spread of bacteria, but they'll be left with irritated too. Then as tempting as it is when your lips are dry, don’t lick them, it’ll leave them drier than before! Instead, keep those trusty lib balms nearby. Why not pick up several chap sticks so you always have one handy, whether that’s in your room, bag or coat pocket?
