5 Simple At Home Workouts

We know it can be hard to find motivation to workout at home, after all the TV is right there. But our top tips will help you to stay active and motivated while social distancing and working from home. So get ready to inject healthier habits into your daily routine.

1. Meditation & Yoga

The perfect way to start or end your day is with some yoga and meditation. Remember, working out isn’t solely for your body, so use this time to refocus and regain control of your mind too. Pay attention to your breathing and movements, not only will you have improved concentration, but you’ll feel calmer too.

2. Use Household Items

You don’t need an abundance of gym equipment to have an effective workout. Simply use household items to up the fitness ante. Top tip: flour isn’t just for baking! Transform your bags of flour into weights for squats, you can even put several in a strong plastic bag. If squats aren’t your thing, then try turning your chair into a platform for triceps dips and russian twists!

3. Get The Kids Involved

Do you ever look at your kids and think ‘I wish I had your energy?’. Trust us, they’re the personal trainers you’ve been missing. Having a workout buddy is always fun, so why not choose your children? If you have a little one they can be used as weights, or if you’re kids are moving 24/7 then a fun dance routine is a great way to let off some steam (and wear them out).

4. Go For A Run

One of the best ways to clear you mind is to go for a run. This doesn’t mean you have to sprint around the park. Take it at your own pace and stroll as you listen to chirping birds, speed walk to some energic songs or jog as you breathe in the fresh air.

YouTube has workouts for muscles you didn’t even know you had.
