Primark Endorses ILO Covid-19 Global Garment Industry Action Announced Today

    Primark firmly endorses today’s announcement from the UN’s International Labour Organisation calling for urgent collaboration between stakeholders to support garment industry workers across the world affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Primark extends its commitment to support its suppliers, agreeing to take some £370m of additional products both finished and in production

    Primark announces today that it is now able to commit to pay for some £370m of additional orders for product over and above the £1.5bn of stock in stores, depots and in transit. This means it will now take all product that was both in production and finished, and planned for handover by 17 April.

    Primark donates care packs for NHS staff at new Nightingale Hospital

    Primark is donating care packs filled with 74,000 products including underwear, leggings, t-shirts, footwear, and towels for NHS frontline staff working at the UK’s new NHS Nightingale Hospital in London, boxed and delivered by Primark volunteers.

    The current situation has been so fast moving. We could not have foreseen that over the course of 12 days, our stores in every country in which we operate have had to close. We have therefore been left with no option but to take this action. We have large quantities of existing stock in our stores, our depots and in transit, that is paid for and if we do not take this action now we will be taking delivery of stock that we simply cannot sell. This is unprecedented action for unprecedented and frankly unimaginable times.

    Supply Chain Excellence Awards (premi per l’eccellenza della catena di fornitura) ha nominato il programma di Primark per l’ottimizzazione degli imballaggi il vincitore del premio "Environmental Improvement" durante una cerimonia tenutasi a Londra il 5 novembre. Il premio riconosce il lavoro svolto dal Packaging Optimisation Programme di Primark, che ha contribuito a ridurre le emissioni di CO2 in tutta la sua catena di fornitura riducendo la produzione, il trasporto e la trasformazione in rifiuti di tutti gli imballaggi.
