You’ve booked the trip, crossed your fingers for good weather and now you’re staring at an empty suitcase wondering how one tiny human needs so much stuff? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a no-stress, essentials guide for your baby’s first sunny holiday. Think practical must-haves with room for a little cuteness and beachy fun.

The baby basics

The first rule? Bring nappies! More than you think you’ll need. Wipes and bibs are next, tackling everything from spit-ups to snack-smeared cheeks. Unexpected changing pit stops are a given, so don’t forget a portable changing mat and nappy cream — because sun, sand and sweat can cause irritation fast. Muslin cloths? Pack a bunch! They’ll double as burp cloths, emergency blankets and even sunshades.

Warm weather baby clothing

When it comes to dressing your baby for the heat, it’s all about breathable, lightweight layers. Think cotton onesies, airy babygrows and sleeveless bodysuits that keep your little one cool while still offering coverage. Add comfy nightwear or sleep suits for the evenings and toss in a light cardigan or jumper in case the temperature dips. A sun hat is a must! Your baby might try to take it off every five minutes, but it’s still better than sunburn. Top tip: be sure to pack at least one extra outfit per day, plus a couple more for good measure.

Outdoor & beach must-haves

Beach days with a baby can be some of the best memories (or the biggest messes), so a little prep goes a long way. If you’re planning on spending time in the water, be sure to pack swim nappies or our sun-safe swimsuits with matching hats, plus a soft hooded towel or poncho for post-splash snuggles. Add a couple of our lightweight beach toys and you’ve got a solid setup for seaside fun!

Extras you’ll be glad you packed

It’s the little things that can make a big difference. Teething toys and dummies are airport travel outfit essentials if your baby uses them; a meltdown mid-flight or during dinner out can often be solved with one of these. Pack a few books or simple soft toys for downtime or long car rides, and don’t underestimate the power of a sippy cup and some snacks!
