What is Fairtrade?

Fairtrade is a system of certification that ensures a set of standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means workers’ rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay. Buying Fairtrade certified products means farmers receive the Fairtrade Minimum Price, which acts as a safety net when market prices drop and supports stable and secure livelihoods.
