How is 24 hour skin hydration tested?
A device called a corneometer is used to measure skin hydration levels. After applying the product, the corneometer is placed against the skin and sends a very low-intensity electrical current through it. By measuring the skin’s electrical resistance, it determines how much water is present. High resistance indicates low moisture, while low resistance suggests the skin is well-hydrated.
Testing and results for the PS...Skin collection
Using this method, we put our four new products to the test. Each product was applied onto 20 individuals with self-assessed dry skin. Readings were taken 1 hour, 8 hours and 24 hours after applying. The result? Our products showed a significant increase in hydration levels. Whether used individually or combined together, the products all achieved a 20% increase in skin hydration after 24 hours.
