In-Store Safety Measures

Our team is so happy to open our doors again and welcome our customers back to Primark! Safety is still our number one priority, and we're working hard to help make sure our team and customers return to Primark with confidence, keeping the high safety standards in place in our stores over the past year.

We have implemented a strict social distancing protocol in all our stores:

  • Following government guidelines, we're limiting the number of customers in the store at any one time to allow for the appropriate distance between customers and employees.

  • Clear signage and floor decals, as well as dedicated team members and security staff, to guide customers through the store in a way that limits contact with others.

  • We've redesigned the layout of our stores to keep more space between people by reconfiguring our register lines to allow for social distancing. Team members will be on hand when needed to manage the flow of the lines.

  • Entry and exit points will be clearly marked.

  • Frequent announcements are made in store to remind customers to stick to social distancing measures.

We've increased personal protection for employees and customers:

  • In line with prescribed guidance, all customers are required to wear face coverings in our stores unless exempt due to medical reasons.
  • On entering the store, customers are asked to use the hand sanitizer provided at the store entrance. Dedicated team members will be on hand to assist customers if needed. Hand sanitizing stations are also available throughout back of house for Hand sanitising stations are also available throughout back of house for employees.
  • We provide face coverings to all of our team members and they are required to be worn while working.
  • Clear screens or cubicles have been installed on registers to help protect customers and team members.
  • We're encouraging card payments and contactless when possible to minimize cash interactions.
  • We've appointed dedicated team members to manage entrances and throughout the store, when required, to make sure social distancing measures are being followed. *Dedicated team members will make sure hand hygiene stations are topped up and report any issues or concerns to the store manager.

We've increased the frequency and intensity of in-store cleaning:

  • We have invested significantly in increasing the frequency and rigor of our store cleaning policy in all our markets, giving particular attention to high-frequency touchpoints like registers, escalators, elevators, and back-of-house employee areas.
  • We've introduced a basket cleaning system, so each basket handle is cleaned before use.
