How to wear the pink colour trend
Balletcore vs Barbiecore, powder vs bubblegum… Pink is for everyone, so we’re here to show you how to style it!
What colour pink is trending?
Put simply, pick a shade of pink and you’ll be on-trend! Fashion houses sent softer, shades like ‘powder pink’ and ‘dusty rose’ down their SS25 runways in nods to romantic spring pastels and the Balletcore aesthetic. But don’t ditch your brighter and richer hues just yet, because there’s always room for a magenta moment or a Barbiecore look…
We’ve enlisted the help of influencer Lucy and her mother-in-law, Jeanette, to show you how to weave pink into your favourite day-to-day outfit formulas.
Powder pink outfit ideas
Tailoring is a great place to start. The structured silhouette of a blazer helps steer pink from cutesy to chic, perfect for those after sophisticated styling. Wear over the top of everyday staples like T-shirts and vests, or follow Lucy’s lead and wear with a bralette to show off your décolletage for a dressier vibe. Powder pink shades and light wash denim provide a fresh summery look, while deeper pink hues paired with indigo and dark denim are an opulent way to carry it into autumn/winter.
How to style pink
Pink AND print? Jeanette rocks it, and here’s how you can too. A button-down shirt and jeans are a straightforward combo, but making colourful clothing look second nature isn’t in the way you wear the outfit, but in the way you style it. Exposing more of the collar by undoing some of the buttons, ruching up the sleeves and knotting the hem of the shirt are just a handful of ways to make the look, inherently, yours. Complete the look with gold-toned jewellery and your favourite pair of statement sunglasses.
Powder pink accessories
Accessorising pink into your outfits is as simple as shoes, bags and hair bows. (The latter is oh-so Balletcore!) Jeanette has opted for not one, but two shades of pink for her look, mixing a hot pink striped shirt with powder pink ballet flats. But for those that prefer a slightly more practical shoe, why not try our dusty pink low-top plimsole trainers?
