The history of Kappa
Originating in Turin, Italy, Kappa was born as a sub-brand to the socks and underwear company, Calzificio Torinese. In 1956, to amend the loss of sales after a production error, the products were labelled with ‘K-Kontroll’ – a monogram guaranteeing that the quality of the products aligned with German standards. Sales surged, and in 1967, the Kappa (the Italian letter for K) trademark was created.
